Rain

It has been raining here in Namibia for the last few days and it feels so good. When you live in a place that is so dry and you see the clouds start to come, you get excited about the rain and you look forward to its coming. It is so refreshing and helps with the temperature. This was a strange Christmas because this has been our first Summer Christmas. IT has been hot and it makes it hard to believe that it is Christmas time and even now almost the New Year. We are excited what this new year will bring and we hope that you will be revitalized with this new year coming just like we have been with the rains.

Visa!!!!

WE GOT OUR VISA!!!!! Thank you for all of your prayers. I (Adam) just went to home affairs yesterday to see if we needed to leave the country or what we can do and as i looked through a stack of approved visa's i found ours. It was exciting. We are so glad that we don't have to do all of this running around and going to other country's. We are excited to be able to have Christmas here at our house with our family. We really are so thankful and we want to give God all the praise. It couldn't have come at a better time. I was expecting to go home after my home affairs trip and start planning out our trip and to make plans. God is amazing and how he takes care of us. It seems sometimes that he is testing our faith and seeing just how long and how hard things can get, but just as long as we trust in Him. Thanks for all the prayers. We hope that everyone has a great Christmas and Happy New Year. We will let you know how the Holidays are here.

Work Permits

We are needing to get approved for our work permits before the officials leave for the end of the year. Our current visa expires on Dec 24th. If we are still waiting for it to come in when our visa we now have expires then we have to leave the country. We are looking into options just in case if we do have to leave but we really would rather not have to leave so we can stay here and do some things with the kids during the break and things like that. So please keep this in your prayers.

Turning 1!!!!!!

So Sammie is now 1 year old. It has been exciting to see her grow and learn. She is getting so big and we just wanted to share some of that with you.We never really knew what a huge blessing it would be to become parents. We constantly are in awe of how great she is! .
She loved her cake and really ate most of it. Not much ended up on her face. I can say that she is a Mustion, she LOVES her cake! The other day during our class we had her Auntie Theo watch her and Theo had some cake and so Sammie got her eyes on it and grabbed it and shoved in her mouth as fast as she could!
She is at the stage now where she says the cutest things. Here when you say goodbye they say "Ta Ta" well the other day we were leaving a store and Sammie looks at the clerk and says,"Ta Ta!". She is so much fun.
She is not quite walking yet, she's kind of a chicken(she's a chicken). She can do it but just won't let go of our hands. She'll get in between Adam's legs and hold on and walk with her little head poked through. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen.
Joy really is a great middle name for her because she really is a Joy not only to us but to everyone she comes into contact with. It's really cool to see God using her in this way already! We can not wait to see what He has in store for her life!

Work at CHS

Tutoring has been my (Adam’s) major job here at CHS. I have recently also picked up doing the bookkeeping. I really enjoy working with the kids on a personal basis and to really get to know them and know what they are going through in their lives. Here at CHS we have been concerned about a meningitis outbreak in the Katutura area. There has been a mass vaccination for meningitis and we are hoping that this will be coming to an end soon. We have also started the choir with grade 1 & 2. Sara is a big help in this and she loves working with the kids and getting to know them better. The kids are learning the songs quickly and we are having fun with them while learning.

Catch up!!!

So sorry this is way over due. So we have a lot of catching up to do. This will be a little pieces of a lot of stuff that has gone on since the last time. The reason that we haven't posted very often is because internet isn't as easy to come by here. It is expensive and so we wake up between 1am and 5am to use the free internet time. So that is why I am up doing this right now.
It is now getting into summer here and it is getting hot. Just last week it actually rained for the first time since we have been here.
Also there is meningitis going around Katutura so we have been concerned about that for a while but i guess it was going around since June. So I (Adam) got the shot for it and we are just being cautious.
We are doing a choir with Grade 1 & 2. It has been interesting teaching them and we are teaching them Christmas songs for our Christmas program. We are very excited for it and are having a good time working with them.
We are so thankful for all the support that we have been getting from you and the prayers that you are offering up for us. We can so happy that you are part of our team.
More post will be coming so please be patient with us and we will try to update this a bit more often but we will be letting you know what else is going on.

Back to school

We are just getting off of the holiday break and now back to school. During the holiday Adam got sick but is much better thanks for all the prayers. I (Adam) an doing tutoring at school and have been working with kids that are having behavioral problems and are distracting other students. It is a challenge but rewarding when you see them begin to grasp some things thy are needing to learn. We are excited that we are going to start a childrens choir this term also. Sorry it has been so long since the last post but internet is not as easy to get here. This post is from my phone so please excuse spelling errors. We will try to post things more often. Hope things are well where you are. We miss you all and look forward to hearing from you.

Now, First week!!

So we are here and things are busy. We have to furnish our house and we don't have a vehicle. So it is hard to get things going. We are getting close on a truck i think so i hope that it will pick up pace soon and we will finally be in our house. We spent a few hours there today getting some things ready to move in and we are excited to finally have a place again. We are hoping to have some sort of internet soon so we can talk to you soon but not sure about it yet. So we will try to get on here soon again to talk to you all. Sorry this is short but it is almost midnight here and I have to get some sleep. Talk to you all later.

Final Week!

We are now on our last week in the US for the next 2 years. We have started packing and going through our things trying to figure out what makes the move and what will be left behind. Even crazier than this is that we are now renting a house in Windhoek, that means we are renting an apartment on the other side of the world. We have never seen it but David & Sandy walked through it with us on the phone. This is so exciting because from what we had heard it would take us at lease a month of being there and searching before we would find anything at all that would even be close to what we need. So we are excited that God is setting things up even before we get there. How exciting that God would listen to our prayers and answer then so specifically. Praise the Lord. So now our Big prayer is to find the perfect vehicle that would be in our price range and that would almost be parked on our doorstep. God has prepared so many things for us I know that He can do this too. It is amazing to know that so many of you and people all over the US are praying and believe me it is working. God has answered so many of these prayers. Another thing we have prayed for is that Sammie would continue to grow and be healthy. We just went to the Dr's office for a wellness check up and they said that she is doing great. So now we really are about ready. We just need to pack up a few bags and hit the road. Thank you for all of your prayers and the support that you are to us. We are very encouraged by all of you. Thank you.

TICKETS!!!

WE BOUGHT TICKETS!!!! We are very excited to say that we now have tickets. It is nice to know that we are for sure going and now that we have a day to tell people that we will be leaving for Namibia. You may be wondering what day that would be, we will be leaving on July 6th. We fly out of Denver and go to London and then down to Cape Town and then a quick jump up to Windhoek Namibia. Windhoek is where we will call home for a while. Our teammates (David & Sandy Echols) have been in Namibia for about a month now and in Africa for about 2 months. We are excited to be reunited with them and to start the work that we have been working toward for so long. It will be hard to leave our family and friends behind but there is no greater joy than to be doing that work that God has set out for you. Please be praying for our travels and especially for Sammie that she will travel well and that we can get there with no problems. Thank you for all your support and prayers. Thank You.

Whirlwind!!!

Wow, It seriously feels like we have been put through the ringer. It has been crazy. I know the last post said that we were "Busy, Busy, Busy!" But seriously it has only been even more crazy. We have been all around Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois and now to head back the other direction after this Sunday. Last week we were at Lakeview Church Camp by Stockton KS. We had a great time with all the 4th Graders that were there and also the faculty. It was a great time to see kids growing UP in Christ. (The theme of the camp was UP, like the Movie.) So to end camp up they made a church out of Cardboard and tied balloons on to it and let it go. It was a very encouraging time. Then we had the opportunity to go back to visit Rocky Fork Fellowship in Hallsville. Then we headed up the road a bit and saw Tenth Avenue North while visiting more friends while in the area. We are now in La Harpe IL where we are doing a week of VBS as the missionaries here. This church is always encouraging to us and it is such a blessing to be part of the work that they are doing. Sorry it has been so long since the last post on here but we will really try to be more regular with it.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

As you can see we have been so busy. We have been to many different cities to show individuals and churches what we will be doing while in Namibia. We have been to the following cities: Julesburg CO, McCook NE, Chappell NE, Haxtun CO, Lexington NE. There are still more churches and individuals that we need to meet up with so we will continue to be very busy. We are lining up churches now for May and June. There are already 3 weeks that are taken up by a church,a camp, and a VBS.

We are anxious to get to Namibia. It has been hard to be here because our teammates, David and Sandy Echols, are leaving for Namibia tomorrow morning. We are excited for them but it is hard to remain here in the US while they are there preparing to do the work that we all are committed to doing. If you would like for us to come and visit with you about what we are doing in Namibia please let us know. We are starting to look at dates that we can leave so please get ahold of us soon so that we can talk with you before we leave. Thank you for all of your support and prayers.

There are a few things that you can pray for if you don't mind.
1. The remaining $930 monthly support that we still need before we can leave.
2. Good prices on plane tickets.
3. The Perfect vehicle to be ready for us when we get there.
4. Safety for our teammates David & Sandy while traveling tomorrow.
5. God to prepare the hearts of the people we will be ministering to while in Namibia.

Thank you so much.

Julesburg Christian Church

We visited Julesburg Christian Church yesterday where I (Adam) used to attend for many years. It was great to see some faces that were very familiar. Seeing all of these people and being able to talk even for just a while was great. We look forward to being able to develop more relationships with the people there.

Moving

We just moved back to Nebraska, where we are from, around the first of the month. This move was made so that we can visit churches and friends that we have here that we have not been able to communicate with very well since we have lived so far away. Craigslist became our best friend for a while. Selling almost everything we packed all of our belongings into a trailer and set off for Nebraska. We also noticed that the trailer was far too full. Now we have to go through all of the boxed that we just moved and get rid of a lot more stuff. This has been a really stressful time because all of the things that we had acquired we somewhat identified ourselves with and now we have almost nothing. So now as we move forward toward moving to Namibia we have to look past this a look ahead at what is to come. As frustrating as it is to move we are really excited, we i guess as excited as you can be about moving. It is nice to see that the goal we have been shooting for is now within sight. We really are excited to see where God will lead us.

Selling Everything

Wow, this has to be one of the hardest things so far. Everything that we have worked so hard to get and somewhat identify ourselves with we now have to sell. We have to get to the point that we can get almost everything into a few suitcases. This is really hard to do. We are less than two weeks away from moving to Nebraska to set up a home base there closer to the churches and people that we grew up with. We will let you know where we are and where we are going.

Thank you for all the prayer and the help that we receive from all of you. If it were not for you we could not do what we are set out to do. Thank you for being part of our team.

Support Raising

Within the next few weeks we will turn a page on our journey. We will be traveling around raising support. Focusing only on raising support will help us to connect better with people that are considering joining our team to reach the people of Namibia. This also means that we will be in your area, yeah your area. We would love to come and visit you, your small group, or your church. We will try to contact many of you. Would you start considering now if you could help us stay in Namibia by commiting to Monthly Support.
Currently we are at 1/3rd of our full support. As of now we have $1,060 monthly that is committed of our $3,250 that is needed to stay on the field. Because of one-time gifts; received, and committed, and the selling of our house; we have enough of our start-up cost that we could leave at any time. We are willing to serve as full-time missionary’s but the problem is that we don’t have the monthly commitments to keep us there. If there is anyway to encourage you personally to join with us, we would love to do that. This can be a big step for you just as it is for us but we are a team and with out all of you we can not do what God has set before all of us to do. Please join with us and if you have questions, please do not hesitate to ask we would love to answer your questions.

La Harpe Christian Church

We just spent the weekend @ La Harpe Christian Church in La Harpe Il. We had a great time worshiping with them and being able to talk about our plans to go to Namibia and encourage them to keep up the good work and continue to spread God's love throughout the world. There were many encouraging times of laughter with friends and we hope that these friendships will continue to blossom. Having LHCC as part of our team is a great blessing and we are excited to have them with us through this journey.

Almost 3 months now!

Sammie has been growning like a weed. It is hard to think that she is already almost 3 months old. She has been so fun to have and we enjoy watching her and the new things that she has been learning.

Arrival of Samantha Joy Wright

Samantha Joy Wright

Samantha is a huge joy in our life and she is so beautiful. She arrived on Nov 4th @ 7:41 am. She weighed 7lbs 12 oz and was 19 ½ inches long. Both Sara and Samantha are doing great and we are just adjusting to life with a new baby in the house.
